I graduated at St George’s Hospital Medical School, London and was subsequently appointed to the South West Thames Higher Surgical Training Programme.

I underwent general surgical training with sub-specialty training in colorectal surgery, particularly with an interest in minimally invasive and laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques. Part of this was spent as a Laparoscopic Fellowship.

Additionally, I undertook a period of research both at St George’s and St Mark’s Hospitals, London, investigating the chemoprevention of colorectal cancer. This work was subsequently awarded a MD thesis.

I was appointed as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with an interest in minimally invasive surgery at Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust in November 2011 and undertake a variety of general, colorectal and laparoscopic procedures, both in elective and emergency situations at the trust. I also have a keen interest in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and regularly teach on laparoscopic and endoscopic courses.

I performed the first Rafaelo procedure in the UK in March 2016 at Spire St Anthony's Hospital.
