I am a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2009. Over the past 15 years I have performed over 1,000 major ear operations, over 500 cochlear implants, over 150 vestibular schwannoma resections and over 150 pituitary tumour resections.

As a Consultant at Cambridge University Hospitals, I am a member of a dedicated team delivering high quality care in Anterior and Lateral Skull Base Surgery, Complex Ear Disease, Balance Disorders and Hearing Implantation. I have been involved in establishing 360º Skull Base Surgery in Cambridge and a Middle Ear Hearing Implant Programme.

I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate training in London. I have gained wide experience in ENT working in a number of major teaching hospitals including Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, Great Ormond Street and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. I have been awarded three prestigious fellowships that have provided specialist training in Skull Base Surgery, Otology, Hearing Implantation Surgery and Balance Disorders. My interest in hearing and balance disorders is augmented by a Masters in Audiovestibular Medicine from University College London.

My research interests are in the fields of vestibular implantation, vestibular schwannomas, Ménière's disease, cholesteatoma surgery and hearing implantation outcomes. I have published over 40 papers in peer reviewed journals, edited journals and books in addition to writing over 10 book chapters. I am on the editorial board for Cochlear Implants International and the Journal of International Advance Otology.

I am Clinical Lead for the Department of Otolaryngology at Cambridge University Hospitals and the Cambridge Regional Balance Service. I completed undergraduate and postgraduate training in London. Fellowship training in Skull Base Surgery, Otology and Hearing Implantation was undertaken in the UK and Australia. I have a Masters degree in Audiovestibular Medicine.

I am married and have two children. A majority of my spare time is spent enjoying the company of my family. I am an enthusiastic cyclist and runner. It remains a lifetime goal to learn to speak passable Spanish.
