Consultant ENT surgeon Mr. Neil Donnelly treats patients in his one-stop ‘Clear Ear’ clinic for the removal of ear wax at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.
Mr. Donnelly uses a minimally invasive technique known as Microsuction. This involves the use of a microscope to provide a good view of the ear canal and a miniature vacuum cleaner to gently remove wax. It is an extremely safe and comfortable method of cleaning the ear. It does not carry the same risk of trauma and infection that can be associated with syringing.

It is sometimes difficult to determine whether an infection is present prior to examination as it may mimic wax impaction. Please be aware that you may be charged the higher fee once the ear has been completely assessed by Mr. Donnelly. If this is the case Mr. Donnelly will advise you of the higher fee before proceeding.
The One-stop Clear Ear Clinic is a self pay service and Mr Donnelly does not require a GP referral letter for this clinic.
