Background Information 
Professional profile:
I have been a consultant gynaecologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge since 2003. I have subspecialty accreditation in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and am the Lead Clinician for Infertility and IVF at Addenbrooke's. I run a regular clinic at the Cambridge Lea and am happy to see patients with a wide range of problems relating to my areas of clinical expertise. These areas include subfertility, gynaecological hormonal problems (such as polycystic ovaries), period problems, menopause, recurrent miscarriage, endometriosis and pelvic pain.

I provide a full assessment of the couple's fertility potential with advice specifically tailored to their individual situation and requirements. You may get more out of your consultation with me if you have your initial basic evaluation prior to the consultation (chlamydia swab, progesterone level and semen analysis), and your general practitioner may be happy to arrange this. I perform laparoscopic assessment and treatment of conditions affecting fertility at the Cambridge Lea. I can also arrange referral to assisted conception programmes where needed, and carry out procedures necessary to prepare for IVF. I also offer evaluation of causes of pelvic pain and medical and laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis and ovarian cysts.
Personal profile:
I am a member of the executive of the British Fertility Society with responsibility for organising twice yearly meetings at which the latest advances in fertility treatment are discussed and debated. I am also an advocate for improved NHS funding of fertility services, locally and nationally. I have been involved in writing guidelines pertaining to fertility treatment and spend a significant portion of my time disseminating best practice at national and international meetings.
