Background Information
Professional profile:
My clinical practice at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is similar to my NHS practice in Cambridge, which involves hip and knee joint surgery and adult trauma care. My main areas of interest are: 1. Primary and revision joint replacement surgery 2. Hip resurfacing 3. Arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery 4. Trauma surgery.

After training in the UK, I spent a year working in a dedicated lower limb joint replacement unit in Adelaide, South Australia. I have substantial experience with cemented and uncemented primary and revision hip replacement surgery for various hip conditions, including hip resurfacing experience. For primary hip replacement surgery, I favour a cemented Exeter femoral stem (which has a very long clinical follow-up) and either a cemented or uncemented socket (hybrid replacement). For revision surgery, I favour impaction bone allografting when bone quality is poor and additional reconstruction is required, or on some occasions a long uncemented stem.I undertake hip arthroscopy for young adults with atypical hip pain, labral tears and early osteoarthritis. For resurfacing I use the "Birmingham Hip".

My practice in knee surgery includes arthroscopic surgery, for meniscal tears and early osteoarthritis, and joint replacement surgery. I favour a cemented knee replacement, typically the Insall-Burstein II, which has been used for many years.I also undertake adult trauma management, for patients with fractures and other injuries.
Personal profile:
I have lived in Cambridge for almost 15 years, after moving from London, where I trained as a medical student and postgraduate. My interests include, skiing, tennis and classic motorcars.
