Professor Wishart is a consultant breast & endocrine surgeon covering all aspects of breast, thyroid and parathyroid surgery. Twice weekly clinics allow access to triple assessment (breast examination, breast imaging and biopsy) for patients with breast disease with access to all breast cancer surgery including immediate breast reconstruction with colleague plastic surgeons. As the former Director of the Cambridge Breast Unit (2005-2010), Professor Wishart now has a national and international reputation for providing the highest quality of multidisciplinary and evidence-based care for patients with breast cancer. Much of the research evidence has been based on Cambridge-based clinical research studies that he has personally lead. He now has a growing medico-legal workload, providing exert medical reports in cases of clinical negligence in breast cancer, especially delay in diagnosis following his development of a new breast cancer survival model that was launched in 2010 called PREDICT (www.predict.nhs.uk).

As well as his busy clinical and research workload, Professor Wishart is co-founder and Medical Director of International Health Technology, a Cambridge-based company developing cutting edge cancer screening services and a route to market for new technology. He was appointed as Professor of Cancer Surgery at Anglia Ruskin University in December 2008 and recently established a state of the art diagnostic and treatment centre for breast cancer in Athens (www.cambridgebreastclinic.com).
