Background Information
Professional profile:
Consultation facilities are available for the full range of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Some complex specialist surgery is carried out at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Urgent Referrals: Any patient with a suspected malignancy of the face, mouth, jaws or neck can be seen on the next clinic. Patients for urgent referral include those with any oral lesion, which has persisted for more than three weeks and has no obvious cause.

Referrals most frequently seen include those for problems related to the teeth and soft tissue of the mouth. These include impacted teeth, cysts of the jaws and the full range of oral medical disease. The facial pain most frequently seen is that related to the temporomandibular joints but also facial pain of the atypical variety. Specialist surgery includes that for facial deformities specifically related to cleft lip and palate. Surgery for disease of the salivary glands, both major and minor salivary glands.

I have a special interest in reconstruction including cranioplasty for cranial defects and maxillofacial prosthetics, including ear, eye and nasal prostheses. In a number of areas of specialist practice I work closely with the orthodontic, plastic and ENT surgeons.

I undertake approximately 40 medical reports within the specialist area of maxillofacial surgery each year. Approximately 75% is for the Plantiff and 25% for the Defendants.
