Treasurer of British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS)
I qualified from Middlesex Hospital Medical School in 1985 and embarked on a career in ophthalmology in 1987. After completing junior ophthalmic training posts in London and the south-east I moved to Birmingham where I completed my higher surgical training. I gained sub-specialty training in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery in two clinical fellowships at Queen’s Medical Centre (Nottingham) and Moorfields Eye Hospital (London) respectively. I have been a consultant ophthalmologist since 1998 and provide a subspecialty service in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital (where I am the service lead) and Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Since 2005 I have served as the treasurer of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society and I am also the Clinical Governance Lead for my subspecialty group in the East Anglia region. Although my practice is almost exclusively sub-specialty based, I maintain an interest in general ophthalmology.
I am married with a young family (daughter and son) who keep me busy. My main interests are music, photography, cooking and sport, especially cricket.
