Since my first orthopaedic job at the West Hill Hospital in Dartford, I have furthered my training in various aspects of orthopaedic surgery, finishing with two fellowships in Australia in paediatric orthopaedics and limb reconstruction. I hold an MSc in sports and exercise medicine from Nottingham University. I currently work as an orthopaedic consultant at Hinchingbrooke hospital.
For my hip and knee replacements, I use implants that have atleast a 15 year follow up and a good track record. I offer minimally invasive surgery of the hip using an anterior inter muscular approach which does not leave any weakness in the muscles surrounding the hip, resulting into a smaller scar, less post operative pain and less post operative weakness. I use computer navigation for all my knee replacements to get consistent accurate results.
In line with my NHS practice, I also offer private consultations for paediatric patients and surgery for limb lengthening and deformity corrections.
Following my masters degree in sports medicine, I have looked after national and international sportsmen and women for various injuries offering consultations and surgery if necessary for sports related injuries.
I offer surgery of the hand such as needle fasciotomy for Dupuytrens contractures, a minimally invasive surgery for contractures in the hand which gives instant results and can be carried out under local anaesthetic.
I have extensive teaching experience, being a faculty member for the international AO foundation. I have a number of national and international publications, and have also written chapters in text books, contributed to contents of websites for national educational websites for medical professionals and am a faculty member for training courses for juniors.
An academic achievement that I am proud of is a Gold Medal in Orthopedics awarded for the MS orthopedics exit exam in Trauma and Orthopedics.
