Background Information 
Professional profile:

Dr Jenner  trained as an undergraduate at St Thomas Hospital in London, where he also did his specialist training in rheumatology.  It was there that he developed  interests in the medical management of back pain,  clinical neurophysiology and sports medicine. Following his  appointment as a consultant at Addenbrookes hospital in1979 he has provided general rheumatology services in both Cambridge and Huntingdon.  He directed the Addenbrookes Sports injury clinic for 30 years until its closure in 2009.  He was also director of the rehabilitation unit at Addenbrookes for over 20 years.  His current interests are in the fields of back pain and sport and exercise medicine.

At Addenbrookes he is the lead clinician for the back pain service which requires the coordination of a large multidisciplinary team of surgeons, pain specialists, & physiotherapists, to provide a holistic approach to this common and debilitating problem. 
He continues his interest in sport and exercise medicine both at the Spire Cambridge Lea and at Addenbrookes where he runs a soft tissue injury clinic and jointly runs the clinical exercise testing laboratory.  He is also programme director for the trainees in Sport and exercise medicine for the Eastern region and an enthusiastic and experienced  teacher of trainees in Rheumatology, Rehabilitation medicine and Sport and exercise medicine
